FERRY BOATS

For both day-trippers and those planning extended stays, sea transportation from Guadeloupe to Les Saintes is the most popular way for travelers to reach the islands. In addition to established ferry services, charter boat rentals are also available.

Ferry services generally leave Trois Rivières, Pointe-à-Pitre or Saint Francois (via Marie-Galante) for arrivals in Terre-de-Haut and Terre-de-Bas. Less frequent service is available from the islands of Martinique and Dominica. Seasoned sailors should have no problem, but those who are not experienced should be aware that sometimes the seas can be rough. It's suggested that those prone to sea sickness forego a visit to the bar before departure or on the ferry, and consider readily available medications.
